Embodied writing archive as a choreographic methodology 

Performance material engages with archival documentation from my process of re-learning how to write. This process of recalling actions of writing occurred during two encephalitic neurological episodes wherein my motor and cognitive function was lost. The reversed, and sometimes upside-down markings act as a score with which I improvise in real-time and against. This project is a remembering of how I forgot how to remember and found my way to a backward, inside out kind of remembering. It reconciles and identifies patterns and pride in the loss of agency and the inherent creativity of a shifted cognitive and motor function. It shimmy’s its hands.
